TV/Film is a very collaborative business and through the years I have met some really great and talented people that have helped me bring my projects to life. In posts to come, I want to share and recommend some of these amazing people in case you might be looking for someone of their skill set.
For my first Friends of Adam (FOA) recommendation, I want to introduce music composer, Daniel Berk. (http://www.danielberk.com/)
Daniel and I met rather serendipitously while I was producing my first project upon arriving in L.A. – “Up all Night with Kurt Magnum”. Daniel randomly sent a message to us via our Kickstarter campaign to see if we had a composer attached yet. To be honest, I had just planned on using royalty free music for the score since at that point I did not know any composers and didn’t think we would be able to afford one with our modest budget. As he is with every project, Daniel was very understanding and worked with us under terms that were beneficial to both parties. If you watch any of the episodes you will see that his score really does bring each episode to life. Over the past three years, I have had the privilege to work with Daniel on a handful of other projects and have been able to gladly recommend him for even more. He always delivers amazing work on time (usually ahead of schedule actually) and on budget. Not only that but his work usually is a home run on the first try. My only worry is that one day soon I won’t be able to afford Daniel once the secret gets out and the rest of the world figures out how much of a rockstar he is. Not only is he a super talented composer and musician (he plays like 10 instruments) but he is a great guy that you can’t help but enjoy working with. So don’t just settle for a royalty-free score for you next project and contact Daniel to help take your project to the next level. Trust me, do it now before he becomes the next Hans Zimmer.
